The Nursing Doll was known among the Russian people, one of its names is Cabbage, and it was called the Vepsian Rvanca at the Finno-Ugric peoples.

Why is it so funny called? This is due to the historical technology of making the chrysalis. She certainly had to be done by manually tearing old clothes into rags. So that the hostess’s life does not become chopped or cut, the doll was made without scissors. Time is changing: they are unlikely to want a souvenir from an old ragged fabric as a present. Therefore, modern charms are made from new fabric using scissors.
For the manufacture of "Feeding" you will need:
  • 1 square 15x15 from white fabric;
  • 3 squares 15x15 made of brightly colored fabric;
  • 7-10 cm ribbons or lace 1 cm wide;
  • triangle 7x7x10 knitted fabric;
  • 3x6 cm rectangle of fabric of another bright color;
  • red bobbin thread;
  • multi-colored threads in several additions 20-26 cm long;
  • stuff for stuffing.

Completing of the work.
1. First the head is made. A square is made of white fabric, a ball of printed material (cotton wool, foam rubber) is laid out at its center, tightly tied with spool thread, tied with 2-3 knots, trimmed (the thread is fixed in the whole craft).

2. The resulting form is folded into a triangle, aligned. You need to pull the two ends of the triangle lying on both sides of the head to make them the same.
3. Making hands. The edged part of the square from both sides is evenly laid inside the future sleeves. The very ends of the sleeves are wrapped inward by 1.5 cm. From the outside of the hands, stepping back from the bent edge of 0.5 cm, are tightly tightened and twisted by the thread of the palm. The resulting hands.

4. Body shaping. The workpiece is aligned again. The edges of the two ends hanging freely from the arms are tucked inward. Then, the fabric of the alleged back along the future waistline from both sides wraps the front of the back. So the doll will have a posture. When the body is determined, the waist is wrapped several times with thread.

5. Making a sundress. The chest is made of two squares of brightly colored fabric using head technology (point 1), only the balls roll less.

6. The chest is wound with thread along the waist in such a way as to imitate a sundress. Parallel shoulder straps run in front of the shoulders, and on the back they cross, creating a protective red cross.

7. The last square of brightly colored fabric is folded diagonally, and the resulting triangle is again folded into a square so that all sections of the fabric remain on two adjacent sides.

8. The tip of the square with folds is superimposed on the back so that it is 1.5 cm above the waist, it is tightly wound around the waist, closing the protective cross.

9. Attaching an apron. An apron is applied to the front from the waist upside down and upside down. Its edge should lie below the waist by 1.5 cm. The apron is wound with thread to the waist, unfolds on the panel of the skirt.

10. After the sundress is aligned, the apron will lie down, and the sleeves will be evenly straightened, a belt consisting of several multi-colored strings is tied around the waist (so it looks more like a woven charm belt).

11. Head decoration. A ribbon is tied to the forehead; on the back of the head, it is pulled together by several knots. The head "old woman" around the neck is tied with a scarf. The edge of the scarf, walking along the head, is bent inward by 1 cm - for strength. The face of the protective doll is not drawn. It is believed that then an evil spirit will instill in her, and she will lose her protective qualities.

The Nursing Doll is ready. It can be presented to any girl or woman so that the work in her hands could be better argued, her face became more beautiful, and people loved even more.
