Creating comfort for your cat, you can not forget about the place of his sleep. I propose to sew a comfortable bed for sleeping with a removable pillow. It will consist of two parts, but will look like a single whole.
The lounger will be supplemented with a pillow, which is placed on the bottom of the product. This is convenient for local contamination of the pillow; it can be washed separately from the bed.
We will need:
- dense natural fabric,
- synthetic winterizer,
- threads, needles, scissors,
- pencil, pen, rulers and pattern paper,
- tape measure.
Work algorithm.
1. We take paper or newspaper, a pen, 2 rulers and scissors to create a pattern.
We draw an oval-shaped pattern, which we will need for the bottom and for the pillow. We make a pattern and cut it out with the help of scissors.
The size is selected according to the dimensions of your pet. In this case, the pattern was 38 by 53 cm.
2. We put the pattern on the fabric, fasten it with needles and carefully cut along the contour.
We make 4 identical blanks.
3. We take 2 blanks for the bottom, put them together with the front side inward and fasten with needles.
4. Stitching, departing from the edge by 1 cm. We leave a hole in order to fill the bottom with a synthetic winterizer.
5. Spread the synthetic winterizer inside with a thin layer.
6. Fasten the hole with needles.
And flash it on a typewriter. Additionally, you can make a stitch around the entire circumference of the product, so that the shape holds better.
7. Stitch the bottom along and across so that we get small squares. The bottom is ready.
8. Using a centimeter tape measure the length of the bottom contour.
Add at least 10-15 cm to the resulting measurement and get the length of the sidewall of the bench.
The increase is due to the fact that when stuffing the sidewall with synthetic winterizer, the length of the fabric blade increases.
9. Cut the blank for the sidewall 36 cm wide and 152 cm long.
10. Take the sidewall blank, bend one edge 1 cm and pin it with needles at a distance of 2 cm from the other edge. Thus, we carry out two actions at once: we form the sidewall and do not allow the edge to change.
Side view.
View from above.
Then flash it on a typewriter.
11. Fill the sidewall with synthetic winterizer.
12. Using a ruler and a pencil, make markings on the sidewall with a distance of 16 cm.
13. Sew transverse seams on the sidewall according to the markup.
14. Bend the free edge of the sidewall.
In the photo, he chopped needles.
And we sew the sidewall to the bottom, having a folded free edge under the bottom.
15. Sew open parts of the sidewall. The main part is ready.
16. Proceed to the manufacture of pillows. Fold the blanks for the pillow face out. We put a little sintepon between them in the middle and pin it with needles. We chop off the blanks with needles.
17. We sew with a contrasting thread a small circle in the middle and sectors from the center.
18. We densely fill the sectors with synthetic winterizer.
19. We sew a zigzag seam around the circumference of the workpiece.
20. Turn the edge a little and process it with a zigzag seam.
We got a pillow.
So, the bed with the pillow is ready.
And now you can connect them and invite the cat.
Your pet will love this bed.
