Decorations on children's clothes are never superfluous! Such trifles attract attention, always delight the eyes of others, but most importantly, these bright and positive applications cheer up children. It often happens that such things become mom's helpers: they hide unwanted spots, places of damage and holes. Especially often they help out in the summer: with such beauty, any T-shirt becomes funny, and the spots from the juice are less noticeable.

It’s not difficult to tie a palm tree and a crocodile! It is enough to take the remains of thin threads plus a thin hook (1.8 - 2.0 mm) and you can safely proceed. T-shirt in the process of knitting is also better to keep in sight.

The sizes of all objects directly depend on the size of the clothes themselves. If the t-shirt belongs to a three-year-old child, then a palm tree with a crocodile will not come out large.

For appliques on clothes of size 30-32, we collect up to 25 air loops and knit 8 rows with a single crochet.

Then we process the lateral side of the work, knitting a sharp tail in this place (columns with an increasing / decreasing number of crochets: first a column with 1 double crochet, then a column with 2 double crochets, then two columns with 3 double crochets, and again st / s 2 n, st / s 1 n).

After that we process the back. With a periodic alternation of ordinary columns, we knit "scales" of 3 air loops, which we close at the beginning of this element.

Approaching the opposite end of the row (after about 4 - 5 knitted arches), we begin to create a massive head. To this end, we slightly rise above the work due to the double crochet (again growing chain) and, having knitted 4-5 loops in this way, we end the row with single crochet.

The crocodile’s head and mouth are ready.

We tie it to the side and bottom with connecting posts, and then we knit the legs outside the head - 4 tbsp. / S 1 N. with a common peak.

The result was a pretty cute and realistic baby crocodile. It remains to embroider the eye at the side and this application can be considered finished.

A palm tree should also correspond to a given size, so that a harmonious composition is obtained as a whole.
We collect 7 air loops and knit with crochets.

The number of such rows for a small tree is 30-35 pcs., With the mandatory reduction of the columns to the end of the trunk.

Volume leaflets will need to be tied at least 5 - 6, otherwise the palm simply will not be magnificent.

Dimensions are also better to be made different so that the overall picture is natural.
The leaves are fully knitted in columns with 1 yarn (this makes them not so dense and lighter, airy in appearance). Chains of air loops (in this example from 7, 8, 8, 9 and 9 each separately) are tied in a circle in columns with 1 yarn once, after which they are processed with the same arches from 3 c. P.
