To make this home-made device you will need a car cigarette lighter and power supply for 12V and 5a.
In this review, the author makes an infrared soldering iron, with which you can easily solder SMD parts, and at the same time not damage the board.
The first step will be to disassemble the car cigarette lighter for parts.
To make a homemade IR soldering iron, you only need a heating element, which is located inside the case.
The main stages of work
We take a piece of metal tube of suitable length and insert the cigarette lighter heating element into it.
Next, you will need a piece of steel wire (you can use a paper clip, straightening it beforehand).
Steel wire must be wound on the upper part, just below the heating element.
At the end of the wire, the author puts on a piece of tube, and then a terminal.
We put a piece of polypropylene pipe on the main tube, fix a thin tube to it with the help of couplers (two pieces will be enough).
In the PP pipe, you need to drill a hole into which we insert a two-wire wire.
One core must be connected to the terminal, and the second to the back of the housing in which the heating element is installed.
Where to connect the "+" or "-" does not matter.
We wrap the handle of the soldering iron with electrical tape (rag or PVC), install the plug and connect the wire to the PSU.
