In this review, the master shows the manufacturing process of a home-made quick-clamp clamp. It is attached to the workbench.

To make a clamp, the author uses a piece of metal 6 mm thick, as well as a steel strip 40 mm wide and a strip 25 mm wide.

The first step is to make markings on the workpieces, and cut out the parts that will be required to make a quick-clamp clamp.

The construction of the clamp consists of a bed, which will be attached to the workbench, handle, clamping part and 4 plates with mounting holes.

The main stages of work

At the next stage, we fasten the plate with holes to the base, and the handle to them.

Next, the clamping part of the clamp must be welded to the front two plates. It should be welded approximately in the middle of the plates.

The author decided to use a bolt head as a clamping “nickle” for a quick-clamping clamp.

If the workpiece is thick, then the bolt can be tightened a little. That is, in this case, the bolt is not rigidly welded, but screwed into the nut. This makes it possible to work with blanks of different thicknesses.
