In this review, we will consider in detail how to make a useful device for your home workshop with your own hands - a mini machine for rolling edges on bolt caps for their manual tightening.
First you need a plate of thick metal (about 8-12 mm thick), several powerful bearings, various hardware and knurling rollers.

The main stages of work
The first step is to mark the plates. Cut off plates of equal length and one shorter. The shorter plate is cut in length into 2 identical parts. Then we drill holes in one of the plates (on both sides) for free movement of the bolt.
In the second plate, we simply make holes for tightening. We also drill the remaining small plates. We assemble the entire structure together with powerful bolts and nuts of various kinds.
Next, we begin work directly with the knurling itself. We drill a hole in the moving plate so that the bearing protrudes slightly beyond the edge of the plate. And on the second, on the contrary, we do closer to the back of the plate (so that you can put a bolt).
After that we proceed to install the rollers. We use a pair of washers, bolts and nuts for this. Twist, but do not tighten to the end. We install the bearing by tightening it on the plate.
For convenience, and to facilitate fixing on the yews, we weld two plates of thinner metal at the edges of the plates in order to exclude the unnecessary drop of the device from the yews.
