Purchased locks (especially cheap Chinese) do not cause much confidence - they can always be opened, and quite quickly. How, then, to protect personal property from thieves in a house, garage, barn or cottage?
To do this, you can make a reliable lock with your own hands. Despite the fact that the design of the castle itself is very simple, it is almost impossible to open it. Everyone can assemble such a mechanism without any problems.
Of the basic materials for this homemade product, you will need a piece of a shelf from a building corner 75 * 75 mm 5 mm thick (12 cm long and 7.5 cm wide). The master decided to make the face and sides of the castle out of a strip 5 mm thick and 3 cm wide.
You will also need a metal bar with a diameter of 8 mm (will be used as a key) and another piece of strip.
The main stages of work
The first step is to cut the workpiece. Please note that the master welds the mask from two plates (for greater rigidity). Then two side plates are welded to the main plate. Previously, they need to make cuts under the guise.
In this case, the master makes an overhead lock, so it will be necessary to additionally drill mounting holes in the main plate.
At the last stage of work, it remains only to weld the stops to the mask, and make a key with a hook at the end.
