The idea of this design is to make a device with which you can make holes of a certain diameter in the ground. Such holes may be needed for planting plants or for installing columns (for example, when installing a small fence for a flower bed).

The advantage here is in the mechanization of the process, in a lesser expenditure of effort and time for digging the soil, in convenience. Especially if the soil is very loose.

The following tools are used for the manufacture of the product: a welding machine, a grinder, a drill, a vice, a hammer, a piece of a wide pipe (select the length and diameter yourself for your task), a square metal plate, a metal pin.

The main stages of work

First you need to tidy up the pipe: with the help of a grinder, we will clean it from rust and dirt, burr and make the surface smooth. From a thick (about 5 cm) steel plate, cut a square - it should be proportional to the diameter of the pipe.

We drill a hole for the pin in the center of the plate. Select the length and diameter for your punch, the pin should completely go into the hole of the punch. Moreover, the hole itself in the plate must be made so that a pin is driven into it with little effort.

The next task is to weld the pin to the plate. We insert it there, knocking out with a hammer, and weld. Then, we weld the plate to the pipe from one end, and sharpen the other so that the edge becomes sharp. We take advantage of the vise by clamping the pipe into them.

Our design is ready to go! Insert the pin into the punch and proceed. The pointed end of the pipe easily enters the soil, capturing it. It also easily sleeps from exposure to vibration. Just a few minutes of work, waste materials, and an excellent assistant appears in our household!
