To make decorative candles you will need:
Candles are colorless ordinary - 2-3 pcs.,
Wax colored crayons,
Aromatic oils,
Tin can - 1 pc.,
Silicone molds for cupcakes,
Ware for melting wax (canned jars, cups) - 1-3 pcs.,
Bowl for water - 2 pcs.,
Wooden sticks.
As a basis, I took the cheapest candles that are still sold in hardware stores. They are not very convenient for use because of their length, and they are excellent as raw materials for decorative candles.
With a can of beer or drinks, cut the top off. Break the candle into pieces and remove the wick. Lower the wick into the jar to the very bottom, securing it from above with a thin stick exactly in the center of the jar.
Lay out the pieces of the candle in containers, add grated on the grater or cut into pieces wax crayons and melt.
You can melt the wax in the microwave. At the highest power, it takes several minutes. You can do this in a water bath: put containers with wax in boiling water. For a thorough staining of the wax, the mixture should be periodically stirred with a wooden stick.
Colors can and should be mixed. This is done either at the stage of grinding crayons, or already with melted wax.
Gently pour the melted and colored wax into the jar, trying not to get on the walls. Immediately put the jar in a bowl of cold water so that the wax freezes. The sequence of layers is rainbow. Ideally, from red to purple, and not the case - how much patience is enough. Each subsequent layer is poured on already frozen wax. There is a slight mixture of layers, but in the finished candle it is not noticeable. Cool the finished candle and when it completely hardens, remove it from the can.
The work, of course, is dirty, but the dishes (ceramic and enameled) were well cleaned with an iron sponge, which is for pans.
It turns out a bright and original candle.
Who has not heard of the benefits of aromatherapy? Some odors can have an emotional effect: increase performance or relax, stimulate sexual desire or relieve stress. Scented candles can be made as a gift.
It is best to use small molds, for example, silicone molds for muffins, where each cell will have its own smell, and, possibly, color. Candles "come out" of silicone well (for better extraction, you can lubricate the molds with vegetable oil), they are neat, like purchased ones.
The manufacturing principle is the same, only a few drops of some essential oil are still added to the wax. You can add your favorite oils: citrus, coniferous, floral or use the tables used in aromatherapy. The candle will smell on its own, and especially when burning.
