Using a homemade compact pipe bender made from a car jack and a dumbbell pancake, you can quickly bend a steel pipe of a certain diameter at an angle of 45-90 degrees. For example, using this home-made device, you can bend the steering wheel for a children's bike.
Please note: so that the pipe does not take a flat shape at the bend, you need to pour dry sand into it and compact it, put plugs at the ends. Then the sand will need to be poured. The design of the pipe bender is quite simple, so every master can make such a device.
First of all, we cut the pancake from the dumbbell into four parts. To make a stop for the pipe, only three quarters will be needed. In one of them on the back we make a groove into which the pipe will fit. You can use a grinder for this.
The main stages of work
Three quarters of a dumbbell pancake must be joined together. To do this, first tighten them with bolts, and then scald. The resulting emphasis with a "hollow" for the pipe will be located on top of the jack, above the reference point.
At the last stage of work, from the scraps of the corner and plates we weld the platform for the car jack and the frame of the whole structure. All elements are interconnected by welding. In the upper part, it will be necessary to install two additional stops for the pipe.
